Got a third toon up to level 110 about a month ago. Meet Raistree, the Restoration Druid!
I’ve always wanted to play druid, and when my guild went through a serious healer shortage, I seriously considered switching mains so we didn’t have to pug anymore. I power-leveled Raistree and got her Nighthold-ready as soon as I could. I felt pretty good about it. I went from item level 780 to 860 in a matter of days! I also got my BiS legendary, the Tearstone of Elune, a few days within dinging. Took me months before I got a good one on Raiscake WTFFFF. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
I also unlocked my artifact’s hidden appearance within the first seed I planted. THIS IS CLEARLY A SIGN. orz I will have to give up my mage main when 7.2 hits. I’ve gone too far with the AP and gear investment on her this tier, but since 7.2 looks to be a clean slate of sorts, that’s the perfect time for me to switch if I really have to. ;_; We’ll see if my guild still has a healer shortage then.
I totally meant to do a review of 7.1.5 when it launched, but alas, it ended up slipping through the cracks in favor of actual gaming. (￣ω￣)
I guess the short version of my 7.1.5 review is: I missed Ice Floes at first, but Slipstream has been such a useful raid talent. I find myself constantly switching builds depending on what I’m doing (world quests, raiding, or mythics). I’m sure that was Blizzard’s intention with this patch. I’ve gotten used to how things are now.
On to more exciting things! I cleared normal Nighthold a week after it launched! (* ^ ω ^) That was super exciting for me. I had to pug it and it took me a whole night, but it was worth it for the mount.
Here’s my Arcanist’s Manasaber! It matches my transmog perfectly. ❤ I rode the heck out of it when I first got it, but now that everyone seems to have it, I’m back on my Celestial Steed.
I haven’t started heroic Nighthold yet. I’ve been burnt out on progression raiding lately, so I’m taking a break. I plan on giving it a shot in a few weeks.
The good news is I have both AOTC achieves for Xavius and Helya so far! I didn’t think I had it in me, so I surprised even myself. And here I was planning to go totally casual this expansion. (~˘▾˘)~ Gul’dan is next. ❤
What’s a WoW blog without talking about your toons? They’re your avatar, your online persona, arguably you who you wish to be. Though if that was really the case, I must wish I’m a zombie in pigtails.
I have habit of rolling new toons after seeing someone else play them and looking cool. I admit to rolling a hunter and paladin because others make it look so easy. (⌒_⌒;)
I also have a habit of abandoning said toons after some time, but I’m determined to have more 110s so I can have all the professions and rake in gold! I find it a challenge to even have two 110s to be honest, but I have guildies who have five or more. I don’t know how they do it!
But I need an alchemist, an engineer, and a scribe so I’ll have to keep trying! (＃＞＜) Someday, someday. I won’t give up!
So here are the toons I’m done leveling so far. Sadly, I don’t stick to lore-friendly names on my toons. I kinda wish I did now, but I’ve always stuck to the Rais____ naming scheme and I don’t wanna stop either.
Raiscake the Arcane Mage
The OG, my main since 2010. Raiscake is the very first toon I rolled on WoW. I didn’t put much thought into creating her back then because I wasn’t familiar with the lore yet. I just thought Undead looked cool and also I wanted magic powers. No regrets though, because Forsaken turned out to be a really interesting faction.
Raiscake is the toon I take to raid progression. She’s usually the first to see the latest content, and she always has the best gear relative to my other toons. As for her spec, it’s Arcane all the way! It’s in an okay spot at the moment (pre-7.1.5). I’ve been learning Fire recently, but I mostly plan to stick to Arcane. I’ve been spamming Arcane Blast since Wrath, and I don’t plan on changing that now.
Fun fact: Raiscake is the nickname my best friend gave me in high school.
Raisbun the Holy Priest
Rice bun is another name for rice burger, which I haven’t actually tried yet but sounds pretty tasty. It is also the namesake of my priest. Raisbun is my primary alt, so to speak. She’s my only other toon at max level (for now at least).
I used my free level 100 boost on my mage, so my priest is also the one who saw the content I missed when I took my break. I’ve also been using her to work on some old quest achievements. So I suppose in a way, she could be my second main. /nolife
I wasn’t expecting to do much with Raisbun after hitting the level cap. I originally planned to stick to world quests and LFR, but my guild was looking for another healer. Our guild master is our main healer, and whenever she wants to hop on her DPS alts (which is totally fair), I fill in the healing spot. Thus, I am a Holy priest (ﾉ´ヮ`)ﾉ*: ･ﾟ I’ll write more about my healing role in another post!
Raisflower the Affliction Warlock
Rice flower is an endangered plant located in New South Wales, Australia. Raisflower, on the other hand, is my level 80 twink. I’ll be writing why I have a twink soon, but for now, I wanna say that Affliction is a lot of fun! It’s so different from my mage’s spec and I love how high my survivability is.
While running a dungeon at level 68, my group died on Talon King Ikiss. I was the only one alive. I quickly summoned my Voidlord pet, had him tank Ikiss while I kept up my dots and Drain Life, all while LOS-ing his Arcane Explosion and keeping my pet alive. After a good minute of solo fighting, I managed to kill him and saved the encounter! That was one of the best fights I’ve ever had.
That’s it for now! I’ll most likely update this post as I get more toons to max level (whenever that maybe). I plan on having at least three more. I’m taking my sweet time leveling them, so it’s more of a long-term goal for me. I’m sure Blizzard doesn’t mind me staying subbed just for that haha!
I’ve been wanting to start a Wow blog for some time, and for the new year, I’m finally doing it! \o/ On the surface, it sounds silly to dedicate a blog to just one game, but World of Warcraft has so much to offer. The topics one can write about is as abundant as the content the game offers (hint: a lot).
So here we are. For starters, hello all! My name is Raisa. I’m a web developer and lifelong gamer. I come from a family who loves gaming, going as far back as my grandmother trying to clear Super Mario Bros. (ᵔᴥᵔ) I love RPGs and simulation games, Fallout and Harvest Moon being my favorite franchises.
WoW is my first and so far only MMO game. My then-boyfriend (now husband) first introduced me to it in 2010. I rolled an Undead mage, started learning what the heck aggro is, frequently got my husband killed during world PvP, and eventually started raiding. I took a long break at the end of 2010, but eventually returned to Azeroth for Legion!
I have a lot of thoughts about WoW that I’m itching to write out. From my endless list of alts, to pet battles, to my favorite add-ons. I’m hoping I can use this space as an outlet for those thoughts. Otherwise, you can find me farming my garrison or doing leveling pets. Oh, and on Twitter too.
That’s it for my first post! If you guys have something you want to see on this blog, let me know in the comments. Have a happy new year, everyone! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧
